The transgender wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched the ‘Vote Se Jail Ka Jawab’ campaign in Delhi, with the goal of rallying public support for their mission.

AAP leader Dilip Pandey and councillor Bobby Kinnar have united in this campaign, emphasizing the significance of inclusivity and representation in the realm of politics.

In the meantime, the Supreme Court is scheduled to listen to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s plea, which challenges his recent apprehension by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Today, a panel consisting of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta will oversee the proceedings.

On April 10, Kejriwal submitted a petition in response to a ruling by the Delhi High Court. The petition asserts that his arrest was driven by political motives and lacks substantial evidence. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, a prominent lawyer representing Kejriwal, argued that vital documents were deliberately concealed from the defence, resulting in an unjust arrest and detention.

The petition aims to secure Kejriwal’s prompt release and calls for the declaration of his arrest as unlawful. It contests the allegations made against him, asserting that they rely on inconsistent and delayed statements from co-accused turned approvers.

The Delhi High Court’s dismissal of Kejriwal’s request highlighted his purported participation in using illegal funds and formulating the recently abandoned liquor policy. It further alleged that he sought kickbacks and participated in scandalous activities while serving as the national convenor of AAP.
