A group of 90 Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) from 30 diverse nations, accompanied by Bhutan’s Speaker Vetsop Namgyel, recently paid a visit to the newly-built Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
In this scene, the officials engage in a ceremonial act of reverence at the temple, paying homage to the deity. They collaborate with the priests to conduct puja, offerings, and devotional activities. Beyond the religious observances, they also take the opportunity to collect information about the temple’s customs, traditions, and religious practices.
The official visit happened to align with a momentous occasion that took place on the first Ram Navami following the temple’s consecration last week. A ray of sunlight directly illuminated the idol of Ram Lalla at the temple, representing the propitious “Surya Tilak” of the deity.
District officials have reported that a significant number of devotees had assembled at the Ram temple well before dawn, in anticipation of the festive event. In response to the substantial influx of visitors, both the local administration and the temple authorities had implemented specific precautionary measures to effectively handle the large gathering.
In the meantime, Champat Rai, the General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, shared that around 15 million individuals have paid their respects to Ram Lalla at the recently built Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, following the idol’s consecration ceremony on January 22. Additionally, he mentioned that more than 100,000 people visit the temple every day to offer their prayers.
