A FIR has been lodged at Hazratganj police station, listing six people, including Aparna Thakur, who alleged that BJP’s Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan Shukla is the father of her child.
Ravi Kishan’s wife, Preeti Shukla, filed the complaint. Aparna Thakur, who resides in Lucknow, recently accused actor-politician Ravi Kishan of neglecting their daughter from their second marriage. Thakur asserted that Kishan has declined to recognize their daughter in both social and public settings.
Late on Tuesday night, a complaint was lodged stating that Thakur had made threats towards Shukla and demanded a sum of ₹20 crores. Thakur allegedly boasted about having ties to the criminal underworld and warned that he would falsely accuse Kishan of rape if his demand was not fulfilled.
Aparna Thakur, who is married to Rajesh Soni, has a daughter who is 27 years old and a son who is 25 years old, as stated in the FIR. Shukla decided to file the FIR after Thakur’s reported threats and the subsequent press conference in Lucknow.
During the press conference, Aparna Thakur confirmed her daughter’s paternity and stated her plans to take legal action. She called upon the Chief Minister to step in for her daughter’s rights. Thakur explained that she chose not to involve the police to protect Kishan and stressed her wish for him to acknowledge their daughter.
On the other hand, 54-year-old Aparna Soni, who alleges that BJP’s Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan is the father of her daughter, went to the Bombay high court on Saturday to request the dismissal of a FIR filed against her by Kishan’s wife Preeti Shukla at Lucknow’s Hazratganj police station.
Aparna, her husband Rajesh Soni, and their 25-year-old daughter Shinova, represented by advocate Ashok M Saraogi in the writ petition, argued that the charges in the FIR, which include criminal conspiracy, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation under the Indian Penal Code, are unfounded and without basis.
Thakur’s legal team claims that the FIR is an effort to suppress her and her family’s assertion of Shinova’s rights as Ravi Kishan’s biological daughter. They emphasize that Thakur had filed a case in the City Civil Court at Dindoshi, Mumbai, to establish Shinova’s rights.
She has filed a lawsuit requesting the court to officially recognize her as the biological daughter of actor-politician Kishan, who had a relationship with Aparna Soni. Thakur’s plea asserts that the FIR is a retaliatory measure in response to her legal action.
Aparna requested the Bombay High Court to throw out the FIR, arguing that it lacks merit and constitutes legal harassment. She is seeking a stop to any additional FIR-related proceedings until the court decides. The court is set to discuss both the paternity issue and the dismissal of the FIR during its upcoming session this week.
