Bollywood actor Govinda, a popular entertainer from the 1990s recognized for his amazing comedic skills and iconic dance moves, officially became a member of the ruling Shiv Sena party in Mumbai on Thursday, marking his return to politics following a 14-year break.
Govinda will most probably be nominated as a candidate from Mumbai North West. In the year 2004, Govinda ran for the Mumbai North Lok Sabha seat under the Congress party’s banner and gained recognition as a formidable opponent by defeating Ram Naik from the BJP. However, he subsequently resigned from the party and decided to take a hiatus from the world of politics.
