Cheistha Kochhar, a thirty-three-year-old Indian student, tragically lost her life in a fatal accident while cycling back to her residence in London. She was previously associated with the public policy think-tank NITI Aayog and was pursuing a PhD at the London School of Economics.
The victim, who was the daughter of retired Lieutenant General Dr. SP Kochhar, Director General at Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), was involved in the incident on March 19. The tragic event took place around 8:30 pm local time between Farringdon and Clerkenwell, as reported by The London Evening Standard.

The truck driver who was part of the accident stopped right away and is presently assisting with the investigation, according to a statement from a police representative. At this moment, no individuals have been arrested in relation to the occurrence.
The authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of the incident to step forward and help in the ongoing investigation. The unfortunate death of Cheistha Kochar serves as a poignant reminder of the risks that cyclists encounter on the roads of London. It emphasizes the significance of implementing effective road safety measures to avert such catastrophic accidents in the times to come.
