The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the online registration process for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) for NEET UG 2026. This marks the first step for medical aspirants seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, and other related undergraduate courses this year. Candidates can apply at the official portal neet.nta.nic.in until March 8, 2026.

The NEET UG 2026 exam, which will be conducted in a pen-and-paper format, is scheduled for May 3, 2026. This will take place in a single-day national testing cycle, according to the official announcement from the NTA. The exam will be offered in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. This aims to make the test accessible for candidates from various linguistic backgrounds.
Aspiring medical students must complete their online application by March 8. The deadline for fee payment is also on this date. A correction window for changing details in the application form will open later in March after registration closes.
To register, candidates need to log in to the NTA portal, provide personal and academic information, upload a recent passport-size photo and signature, and pay the required fee online. Candidates must be at least 17 years old on or before December 31, 2026, and there is no upper age limit based on the latest notification.
NEET UG is the sole entrance exam for undergraduate medical and dental programs at both government and private institutions in India. This is mandated by the Ministry of Education and regulated by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Dental Council of India.

The addition of multiple languages in the 2026 cycle reflects efforts to make the exam more inclusive for students from different regions and language groups. Candidates should carefully select their question-paper language when filling out the form, as changes are usually not allowed after submission.
With registrations open, medical aspirants are focused on finalizing their applications and preparing for the NEET UG 2026 exam. This exam will play a key role in determining entry into medical education programs for the next academic year throughout the country.
