In a shocking case from Lucknow, a 21-year-old man allegedly murdered his 50-year-old father following a dispute over career pressure and control of the family business. The father reportedly wanted his son to clear NEET and become a doctor, while the son was allegedly more interested in taking over the family’s established business empire, leading to escalating tensions.

The accused, Akshat Pratap Singh, allegedly shot his father, Manvendra Pratap Singh, in the head with a licensed rifle after a heated argument on February 20. The victim was a successful businessman who owned multiple pathology labs and licensed liquor shops in the city, and sources say mistrust had already grown due to an earlier jewellery theft suspicion inside the house.

Police say the accused then attempted to dispose of the body. He allegedly dismembered the body, dumped some parts in the Sadrauna area, and stored the torso inside a blue drum in the house, while the head is still reportedly missing. Acid was also recovered from the residence, suspected to have been used to destroy evidence.

The crime surfaced after a missing person complaint was filed. During questioning, the accused reportedly gave inconsistent statements, initially claiming his father had gone to Delhi. Forensic teams later found blood traces and signs of cleaning inside the house and car, and investigation is currently ongoing.
